Curious but unsure?

Hi, I’m Claire, founder of The Talk Pub.

Thanks for being here! I’m writing this in response to some meaningful questions from people interested in signing up for a heartlab.

The questions are varied, but they mostly revolve around what it would be like when a person arrives. Would it be awkward because they’re arriving alone? Is it going to be weird? Or too serious?

I get the hesitation. I wouldn’t want to waste good money on three hours of weirdness and boredom either. That’s why your comfort, satisfaction, and enjoyment are always top of mind when we design each heartlab.

Most people may walk in nervous, but before they know it, they’re laughing and joking as if they’re old friends. Yes, we talk about the science of love, but we also witness the chemistry between strangers. And we design each heartlab to make sure that that chemistry lingers.

We also receive a few questions asking if they would be out of place because they’re too young or too old, not gender normative, or not that comfortable conversing in English.

The beautiful thing that we’ve observed with our attendees is the openness and respect everyone extends to one another. If there’s one thing that holds the space together, it’s the desire to understand how relationships work. And the first step that comes easy is responding to that first hello. Or that smile from a stranger across the table. And, of course, that first laugh shared.

Walking into the room alone may feel uncomfortable at first. But it only lasts a few seconds. Because you’ll find yourself in a room full of other people like you—curious. And brave. And open to learning about love.

Come curious. Come alone. Come as you are. There’s space for you here. 💛 🗝️

Love, Unlocked
